Membership Benefits

The primary goals of the SPC are to provide a fun pickleball experience for our members, and to help maintain the courts at our local parks. While membership is optional for individuals who participate in open plays, we encourage those individuals who play on at least a semi-regular basis to join.

While one of the primary purposes of the SPC is to help maintain courts in our area, members also enjoy the following benefits:

  • Reduced fees for play at Salvation Army and other venues
  • Member-only social events
  • Communication regarding current issues and upcoming events
  • The opportunity to advance the sport in our community
  • The use of pickleballs during SPC's open play
  • Access to use the SPC’s pickleball machine ($25/week) and portable nets ($10/week)

Annual Dues

Annual dues are used primarily to supplement the Springfield Park District's budget for maintaining courts, and to assist in developing new courts. Fees are due by January 1 of each year, and are reduced 50% for those who join the club after June 30 of the calendar year. Current membership levels and dues are:

  • Regular: $25 for Sangamon County (IL) residents
  • Associate: $10 for out-of-county residents
  • Student: Free for students age 24 and younger who are currently enrolled in school

If you are experiencing financial hardship, contact the SPC Vice President to discuss a potential fee waiver. Any questions regarding membership can also be directed to the SPC Vice President.
