OPEN PLAY

Spring through fall, SPC organizes weekly "open play" times at Iles and Duncan parks as an opportunity for pickleballers to play with others. You don't need to be an SPC member, and you don't need a four-some... just show up and join the fun! The open play times are listed in the table below, followed by a list of designated times courts available at local indoor venues (which often turn into "open play" as well!)

SPC hosts "beginner play" every Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. from May through August at Iles Park. No equipment or knowledge of pickleball is needed... just come ready to have fun! SPC members are on hand to provide instruction to teach you the rules, how to keep score, and how to play the game Paddles and balls are provided.

Tip for newbies: Pickleball etiquette (wherever you play) suggests if there is a wait for a court:

  • Players play one game, then relinquish the court to the next group in line.
  • Players stack their paddles along one edge of the court (or in the baskets at Iles Park) to determine who is next up.

You can also organize your own open play or private (invite-only) play with the Playtime Scheduler web site, and use it to find and join games with other players.
